Select tracks and clips

Tracks divide the roles of sources, and clip selection determines what to move, copy, or delete.

Prerequisites
  • Audio or video added to the timeline

Adjust the track

You can adjust Solo, Mute, Record, FX, Automation, Volume and PAN on audio tracks. The video track displays only the controls necessary for video editing.

  • Solo: Listen focusing on the selected track
  • Mute: Mute track sound
  • VOL/PAN: Volume and left/right position control
  • Drag track header: change track order

Select multiple clips

Clicking on a clip replaces the existing selection. Ctrl/Command-click to add or subtract individual clips, and Shift-click to continuously select starting from the reference clip on the same track.

  1. 1

    Select criteria

    Select the first clip.

  2. 2

    Add individual

Press Ctrl/Command and click another clip.

  3. 3

    continuous selection

On the same track, hold Shift and click the end clip.

  4. 4

    move together

Drag one of the selected clips to change both time and track position.

Accurate placement with snaps

When you turn on snap to top, when you move or trim, it will snap to a reference point closest to the start or end of the clip. Turn it off briefly to freely fine-tune it.

Delete a track

You can delete it from the track's delete button or the empty space right-click menu. Connected video and audio tracks are deleted as a pair.
